Top 5 Ridiculous Parenting Habits

Read on to learn about the ridiculous parenting habits and how they affect child’s development. Find out how to get rid of such ridiculous parenting habits.

Parenting does not require any qualification. There are wise parents and perfect kids, also there are disgusting parents and spoiled kids and vice versa. So, we can never conclude saying, wise parents churn perfect kids or unwise parents should be content with spoiled kids. So it is true, that parenting does not require any specific qualifications, but it undoubtedly demands perfect responsibility.

Along with guiding the child at every stage, parents need to realise when to take a front seat and when to take a back seat in his child’s life. If not, ridiculous parenting habits will surely hamper the innate talents in kids and cease the enthusiasm in a kid. They become dull, uninterested and loose motivation and inner drive to achieve or excel.

Top 5 Ridiculous Parenting Habits

Here are top 5 ridiculous parenting habits which parents must quit.
  1. Over protecting the child at every stage makes her lose the performing abilities.
  2. Not allowing the child to do any work on her own leads the child towards over dependence on the parent.
  3. Instructing at every stage of work assigned removes the thrill and suspense in the child’s life.
  4. Creating mistrust on the people whom the child has confidence makes her dull and inactive.
  5. Yelling very badly when a child commits a mistake, makes her feel inferior

Effects of Ridiculous Parenting Habits

Apart from the above five wrong parenting habits, smoking and drinking gives a very low impression of a parent in the eyes of the child. A parent’s position is highly respectful in the eyes of the kids. Kids feel their parents are supreme in every respect. Kids compare their parents with every elder they interact with in their neighbourhood. They generally appreciate their friends moms, aunts or others parents. They make their own conclusions and try to create their own iconic figures of the people they see and live with.

When the child starts feeling that her parent is not really a wise individual, she starts downsizing her capacity and courage. She also starts loosing on her confidence to achieve anything. So, to live up to the expectations of kids, parents need to shun their ridiculous parenting habits.

Top 5 Parenting Needs

These qualities should be imbibed by parents to get rid of ridiculous parenting habits.
  1. Patience
  2. Attention
  3. Reasonable behaviour
  4. Enthusiasm
  5. Tolerance

Importance of Imbibing Good Parenting Qualities

Every parent should have patience to handle all situations. Every day is a new challenge and experience. A kid wants perfect attention from her parent. This can never be denied. As parents we are under constant observation. We need to have reasonable behaviour and maintain decorum.

To train the kids and make them performers, parents can never lose enthusiasm. Parents’ enthusiasm and drive should be contagious and make the kid a performer at every stage. While rearing the kids, as parents we need to have utmost tolerance. The results of parenting are not instant but are surely long lasting and are life time achievements.

Parents need to uphold their principles and live up in the eyes of the kids. We need to support the kid when they get low grades, perform inefficiently or lose in the game they play.  We should also teach them that exams and marks are not ultimate deciding factors for success in life. They should be taught how to withstand a failure. We should highlight that every failure is a stepping stone towards success.

So parenting is a lifelong responsibility and a commitment for every parent. Though the journey of parenting is full of challenges, the fruits of parenting will give long lasting impressions in the minds of the kids. If every parent discharges his or her responsibility consciously, a country will have a better citizen and good Samaritans.

All these ridiculous parenting habits are imbibed by parents unknowingly. But such habits should be banished by parents immediately.
