I have made a regular study routine for my kid. So, it helps him to be prepared before the exam date. It also helps him to be tension-free at the last minute. Proper plan with relaxed preparations will always make children to score good marks.

Yaa, I agree with Ramya. It is essential to get involved with kids while they are studying so that their attention span increases as well as parents know that their child is actually studying.

Having a proper routine for child's studies will help to increase child's attentions span. Also parents should make sure that they get involved with their kids while they are studying so that parents can get an idea of their child's grasping power.

with all due respect, the writing of both the mother who is a college student and the scholarship student is error-riddled. fragments, run-on sentences, misspellings -- it's enough to make an english teacher shudder. i heartily recommend the both of you to find a caring, conscientious tutor. if you are dyslexic, please do try to use a spellchecker at least.

certainly every parents desire would be to inculcate the drive to excell in their child . for this the child needs a certain amount of maturity to understand the pros and cons of success and failure in life. do you think this sense of maturity is dormant in a child which merely needs an awakening or do you think there are children who are not born with this sense at all. what do you recommend for such children. how should one go abount motivating the child who is lacking self confidence and is sherking from responsibily.

i think television is a bad influence on young children's minds, and anyone under the age of 10 should spend as little time as possible watching t.v., and doing something creative to increase the child intellegence.

in most of the homes, parents are the only reason why children are not showing interest in the studies.for most of the mothers megaserials are more important than their children.really nowadays children are getting more matured in their childhood itself.its all because of tv. parent should allow their children to watch the useful programs which will improve their knowledge.

isn't it true that the brain can only concentrate for a certain amount of time? so making your kids sit still for an hour will just teach them to daydream.

my seven year old son is in class i of a very good old big misionary school. he is not performing well at all in comparison to his peers or even by standards of a common child of his age. he likes drawings, painting watching movies, but he repeats the thing which likes, such as movies, songs, paintings etc. i had consulted doctors and they were prescibing special school saying the child is autistic but i don't find much like that. his likes & dislikes are very prominant. please suggest.

my 8 yr old daughter has always been very wel-mannered and fun loving. i noticed atthe begining of the 3rd grade that she is changing not excited about school, lazy, not following instructions when first told. i realize my frustration will make her feel bad, however i really feel like she is daydeams and looses focus so fast. if you tell her to do a simple task as go upstairs and change our clothes and bring me my bring don my sandals se will forget what i told her to bring me. its as if she can oly remember some of the instructions but not all of them.

teachers should plan their lesson with more hands on material so that the children can used them,as teachers if you bring some unsual things in the clasroom you will see how much it grabs the students attention and how effective the lesson will be.

if we consider this problem of watching tv from the point of view of the society at large the following points might be considered: 1.there should be a limit for the telecast of cartoon channels. 2.cartoon channels should be pay channels.

it is interesting to see that most of the questions and worries come from india. not to blame parents. we have been supporting such a poor quality school system where the children are taught to join the rat race. why not watch "taare zamin par"? and rethink about our concerns...?

my son has completed 7 years in nov, 08. he is reading at class-i in a very good school. his class teacher during every parent-guardian meet appreciate his initiative and ability. but due to his loss of concentration, my son always showing below grade not only in his study but also in other curriculum activities. even he has no concentration in playing, drawing, reading and other activities. it is very absurd to say that he used to pick up useless things on the road and bring it to home for his experiment. what to do now?

what ever is the problem with children parents play a great role. to overcome their problems with studies make them learn things while playing with them. many things can be taught practically involve them while you are in kitchen or at any household work you can teach them many things like naming vegetable fruits etc. ask them to add subtract. allow them to play outside. for a child to be active he should enjoy running jumping which helps him to be physically and mentally active. you can also start simple word building sort of activities for eg: you say a word ant ask your child to build a word from the last letter start with very simple 2 or 3 letters. it should be more like a game. if your child enjoys drawing allow him to do it first appreciate him for that then you can draw his attention towards his studies. remember to appreciate his simple activities and your child will improve interest in his studies. give a break if they lack interest.
