hello Anitha,
how do u and ur baby do now? enjoying parenting?
I would like to suggest a few food sources which help tp increase the weight of a child.
Cereals, lentils, sprouts and dals (pulses), fruits like bananas, apples, papaya and vegetables like potatoes, even sweet potatoes (ratale), dry fruits like dates, dry figs , raisins have got rich sources of iron which in turn help to increase weight.
sprouted moong (boiled), mashed and make it into a bather for dosas. they r the best.
why do not u try out two of my recipes mentioned in recipe section - banana jelly and dates rolls. children love it.

Hello Anitha,
First of all let me know when exactly did ur daughter recover from flu? how long did it last for? was she administered with any abtibiotic drugs during that period? Sometimes, these medicines act little stronger on child's stomach on account of which she finds difficult to consume heavy products like milk. it will take time to come back to her normal taste.
As u ve mentioned, she's consuming cheese abd curd products. That's wonderful. They have got equivalent sources of calcium too.
Butter-milk (not very sour), yoghurt (hung curds with sugar), cheese slices of any flavour, butter (home made preferred), ghee (home made pure) on chhapati or dal rice, any kheer, fruit salad, custard, mashed bananas with milk and sugar in a bowl, puddings, panchamrut- milk, curds, honey, ghee, sugar (little amounts added together), etc.
Slowly n gradually will develop its taste.

Sonali,
she had the flu for 2 weeks, after which also she did not take the milk. I did not give any medication, as her pediatric strictly said don´ t give medicine. after 2 weeks, i gave her pediasure, which she liked. And now she is drinking the pediasure which i will have to do some entertainment to her and then she drinks. I really don´ t know how long it is still going to take for her to completely accept the milk. When i spoke to her pediatric, she said, she is been affected by virus and thats the reason she did not accept milk. And her weight has come down after the flu.Your advice for different food varieties are awesome. I will try those at home. Thanks for your help.

preschooler diet chart
hi NG,
u' ve not mentioned about ur child' s likes and dislikes in food stuff, so that i may suggest a few healthy diet of it' s own choice ingredients. Anyways, normal healthy diet for a preschooler (above 1 and below 04yrs.) should include a well balanced diet, since a child' s brain as well as body grows fastest in it' s first five years. so these yrs are of great ... - Sonali [View Message]
