Removing Make-Up From Your Eyes - by Editor
The market is full of beauty products for your eyes. Learn what you can use to take off your eye make-up before going to bed.
The cosmetics industry is booming. There is a variety of products available, each one claiming to be the best in its respective category. As a consumer, you are spoilt for choices. Along with make-up, there is another category of products available called Make-Up Removers. Make-up removers are important because they are used to remove all traces of make-up from your skin. In earlier days, most women used to just splash on some water to remove their make-up. However, in recent times, make-up removal products have spawned their own industry. With make-up products that are long lasting in nature, one cannot simply use water to completely remove all traces of the makeup. What to Look For
Your eyes are extremely delicate and must be treated as such. The main factor involved in choosing a suitable eye make-up remover is its quality. Combined with the effect a make-up remover has on your eyes, choosing a suitable option can be a complicated decision. Virtually all companies that produce eye make-up also produce removers. However, not all of these removers will be easy on your eyes. If you wear waterproof mascara, you will need to find a remover that is strong enough to remove all the mascara without you having to pull at your eyelashes and the delicate skin around your eyes. Some removers have chemical components in them which are very harsh on your skin and can sometimes cause an allergic reaction. Other factors also play a role in selecting a suitable eye make-up remover. For example, if you use contact lenses, you need to avoid make-up removers that are oil based. If you have a known allergy to certain ingredients, then you need to carefully read the labels of products before you purchase them. On the basis of trial and error, you should be able to discover which products suit your skin type and which brands you can trust. What Products to Use
Products that are of very good quality often cost a great deal of money. This makes them a very expensive proposition to use on a daily basis. You may be in a dilemma as to whether spending such a large amount of money is really worth it. However, consider that the comfort of your eyes comes first. A compromise is possible though. There are plenty of safe and reasonably priced products available that you can use for removing your daily make-up. The expensive, high quality make-up removers can be used for special occasions, where you have to use extra make-up.Oil
This option works only if you are not wearing contact lenses or take off the lenses every night, before going to sleep. This is because the oil may get into the space between the contacts and the eye itself and cause irritation of the delicate eye membranes. Oil is a good option since it can remove most eye make-up with minimum physical effort. Mineral oil is one of the most reasonably priced oils that can used to remove eye make-up. It is safe to be used for almost all skin types. A similar option is baby oil, which is nothing but mineral oil with some added fragrance. Since it is meant for babies, it is ideal for those women with sensitive skin. Apart from mineral oil, you can even use some oils that are found in your kitchen. The best 'kitchen' oil to use as a make-up remover is olive oil. Alternatively, you could even use almond oil. Both these oils easily remove make-up from the area around the eyes with minimum effort. They are also less likely to cause any skin irritation. While using oil to remove eye make-up, add a few drops of oil to a clean cotton ball and slowly wipe away the make-up from your eyes. Use firm yet gentle strokes. Avoid rubbing the eye-lids or other areas vigorously. When you have removed all the make-up, wash your face with plain water. This is to remove all traces of oil from your face. Otherwise, the oil remains in your skin and clogs its pores.Raw Milk
Raw milk is a cheap and safe option for removing eye make-up. It is especially beneficial if you happen to have oily skin. As in the case of oil, dip a cotton ball in some raw milk and wipe away the make-up from your eyes. Follow it up by splashing your face with water and then gently pat your face dry. No matter what you use for removing eye make-up, make sure you check all the components before you use the product. After all, you top priority is to ensure your eyes are comfortable with the product you choose. What make-up products do you use for your eyes? How do you remove the make-up at the end of the day? Are you more comfortable using a remover bought from a store or do you prefer to use a naturally available option? To share your tips, views, and experiences, click here.
