I have stopped feeding my baby as she is 15+months old now. From last 1 day i havent given her my BM. But now my problem is how to stop the generation of milk in breasts. Which is the best method: pumping out manually OR using breast pump OR taking medicine to stop the supply. personally, I want to avoid eating medicine. Pls help. Its urgent. Rashmi replied. just empty ur extra milk at nights manually...i know its uncomfortable, but do it....in a day or 2 the milk will stop being produced by itself ( production depends on demand). dont waste money on pumps, and DONT tak medecines for such small issue!!! Use green cabbage leaves and put that in the freezer.Leave them on until the leaf wilts.It worked for me. nupur replied. if you totally stop pumping or bf all of the sudden you might experience lumps.i would avoid doing that.

also, if you go slowly it will take same time as it takes in totally stopping. but you will avoid having lumps or feeling hard on your chest and still stop the generation of milk gradually.

i would personally tell you to visit your lactation consultant, he or she will be able to guide to the best. cutie_prabha replied. I personally think that u shouldnt pump your milk out. As it will only increase ur milk supply. instead stop feeding the baby. the first few days u will feel uncomfortable. but ur milk will dry up soon. pumping or manually expressing ur milk will only let the suppy of milk go on. Hetal replied. hi,to feel comfortable after weaningg, takes couple months..i weaned my baby at 11 months and i m slowly increasing the time of pumping milk.. now its been 1.5 months and i feel good after 2-4 days too...
so try doing that..like if regularly you are pumping for every 4-6 hours,,slowly take it to 10 hours or more depending on your convinience,,and then slowly take it to 24 hours,,,after 24 hours generally the body gets signal that now it has to stop the supply !! after thats it becomes pretty comfortable to go further for a day or more !
