Planning a Baby  Discussion Forum

Hi, We are living in Tulsa, USA on H1B status. I have been trying to conceive for the last 4 years with no luck. We would love to adopt a baby between 0-1yr old (boy/girl/both) from India or an Indian baby in USA. Can we bring the baby immediately with us to USA on H4 status, after adoption? We heard that the recent USA law states that - the adopted parents or one of the parents should stay with a baby in India for 2 years after adoption. This is to establish relatioship with a baby. Is it true? If this is true, adoption is ruled out for us and I may have to go for IVF with donor´ s egg in India. Can anyone kindly help us / update us with your valuable suggestions? There is an excellent agency right there in Tulsa, called Dillon International. My husband and I used to live in Tulsa. I haven' t heard of any such law that you must live in India w/the child for 2 years, but not sure how the laws would be different if at all w/your visa status.
