Hi All

I need a clarification...My doctor had given me an option to test for downsyndrome. But so many people different version on this. Can i know whether it is mandatory..or to leave it to god' s hands.

I agree with SK that the downsyndrome scan is not mandatory. But I feel we have nothing to lose if we do the scan. Infact it is quite a relief to know that your baby does not suffer from down syndrome.

I had my downsyndrome scan done in the 13th week and everything turned out fine (touch wood). There is no history of downsyndrome in our family. But we took the scan as a precaution.

Final decision is yours entirely.

They do offer this test before 16 weeks I think but it really not compalsary.
You need to think on it if you have risk in family.
I opted not to for both my first and second because there is nothing close to in my family but you should check out in detail and make the decision.

According to my experience with Relicord, I will never recommend any one to go with Relicord. It' s being 1.5 years now, I am paying the EMIs, but I had enough trouble with them.

yes Life cell is the best, when ourbabygirl was due in Feb 2011 we shortlisted Lifecell after meeting Cyrobanks, Relicord, Babycord etc. Cyrobanks are thugs they promise you the moon and also there is no indian hand in this company so we can' t rely on them at all. Avoid Beena Jaysingh. We' ve got seriously burnt up by Dr. Beena Jaysingh of Apollo Bellandur. Dr Beena is highly unprofessional and always behind money. She is incompetent and doesn' t understand patient problems and needs. Whenever we went to her for my wife' s pregnancy she wrote all the available tests without even asking and thinking.
