Yesterday night i had a pain in lower part of my stomach. Though the pain was not constant i was alittle bit worried abt that. I felt pain near the mouth and there was no bleeding and discarge. Today morning i rushed to the doctor. She checked my tummy and said nothing to worry abt this. The reason was the baby's stronger kicks. I was really confused with contractions,and kick pain. But she explained me in detail. I thought this information might be helpful to u ,so that u need not become very panic in such situation.

*if ur baby is very big in size and u hv lesser fluids,u will feel pain in lower part of stomach whenever the baby kicks you (This was the reason for my pain)
*When ever ur baby presses ur bladder u will hv pain.
*If u hv any urinary infection, u will hv pain in stomach whenever u breath.(U will be having pain when u pass urine also).
*When ever the baby kicks the pelvic bone u will hv pain.
*Due to streching, and expansion of pelvic bone u will hv pain.

If u hv pain on uppre part of stomach. it might be because of gas problems and heat burn.

So if u feel pain,with out any discharge(fluid), and spotting don't get panic.Take care

THanks for the info. It is really insightful. I just wanted to add to what you have said. It is very important that you take notice of any pain that you feel....since I could not make out the difference, I thought it was normal pains and it turned out to be contractions. By the time I got to hospital and got some care, it was too late and we had a premature baby, who survived for only 1/2 an hour.
Contractions will be regular pains...they will come at regualr intervals...they may not be intense initially..in my gas it felt like gas!!
But if they are coming and going at regualr intervals, then you need to time them adn call the doctor immediately or go to the ER immediately.
Also, if your discharge is even slightly pinkish or has any traces of blood, then it is a warning sign.
I sincerly suggest that all you ladies have a discussion with your doctors about signs and warning signals for pre-term birth. If you are alert, the doctor can help you!!
