I miscarraied 2 times. I tested everything negative and after 6 cycles i started TTC again. My Doctor he suggested to visit hime as soon as i test positive for pregnancy so that he can give me some progestrone sustitute or something. My question is is it safe to take some kind of injections/progestrone substitutes during early pregnancy. both of my miscarraiges are during 8th week. according to my doctor mine & husband test results didnt show any kind of abnormality.

Did your doc every check your actual progesterone levels WHILE you were pregnant (not after)? When I had my miscarriage, turned out my progesterone was very low - but it is a chicken or the egg type thing - who knows if my progesterone was low b/c it was not meant to be or if my body just couldn' t keep the pregnancy b/c I had low progesterone...

When I got pregnant after my miscarriage, I didn' t take any chances - I got on NATURAL progesterone supplement (Prometrium 100 mg BID). Make sure you get natural progesterone - pills or suppository are fine. I wouldn' t take any chances - natural progesterone won' t hurt you while pregnant, it just gives your body the boost it needs to understand it is pregnant! I took progesterone until I was 12 weeks - it made me nauseated, but it was well worth it. Good luck!

btw, why is your doc telling you to wait so long TTC after miscarriage? My doc said that unless you have a D&C, you should try again as soon as you are ready - if you have a D&C after miscarriage, then wait 2-3 months. Six months might be too long - I understand you are most fertile after miscarriage - happened to me! Got pregnant after miscarriage without a period in between - this has happened to two of my other friends too. It might be an old wives tale, but even my doctors says he sees it all the time, women getting preggo right after miscarriages.

all the best,
Chetna

Her husband was a doctor too, but besides all the knowledge they could do nothing. Then they tried going for IVF. At first they were resistant, they were double minded. RE:Coping With a Miscarriage
Hey! I hope you are doing well. Miscarriages are a terrible thing that can happen to a family. It is like your dream of having a child and the next moment it is all gone. There are various reasons why miscarriages happen. But I do not think that miscarriages should affect the relationship. It is the responsibility of the husband to understand that no one is at fault. If th... - Irene Camron [View Message]
