Hi Dear friends out there... pl bear with my long letter. Hoping a gud advice from u ppl. I am a working in a mnc company earning a gud salary. I have a 2 year old kid(boy).

My real problem is my husband. Dnt know how to handle him.I came to know after marriage that he has smoking and liquor habits. but after marriage also it continued the same and we had fights many times and many times I left home but he promised me that he will not repeat this. so again we joined..it went like this for 2 years and even after my birth of my baby he is continuing. All this my in-laws also knows.

At one point of time, I told my parents about this and we all had a serious discussion on this and my husband promised me that he willnot touch again.But the things are same as of now.no change at all.
But one thing to accept is that he is such a gud guy at heart, takes a gud care of me and my kid..the only problem is this 2 habits. Once he consumes liquor he uses abusive words that i cant hear..he talks ill of my parents at that time..many times i tried to kill myself..but in vain....

I have told my parents that he stopped consuming liquor as I dnt want to hurt my parents anymore.
I am working hard at office only cos of future of my kid and he is not bothered abt it and he is only looking after his happiness by consuming liquor.

First of all I am sincerely sorry to hear your story.
Smoking and alcohol are very very difficult to get rid of..it' s kind of addiction. Has your husband ever taken any kind if medical/psychiatric help to leave smoking or drinking? if not then he will never be able to leave these.
First of all never ever try to end your life..always think about your kid whom who brought in this world.
Now be brave
1. Try to get him to medical and or psychiatric help to get rid of his bad habits.
2. If he doesn' t agree to do so...let me tell he would continue to make ur life hell. You have a valid reason to divorce him. Indian law supports divorce on basis of adultery, abuse and alcoholism/drug addiction. Go ahead..You are educated, independent ..do not bear this hell. Divorce him and start afresh a new life.
Anyways..the way he is spoiling his life ..I am sorry to see he won' t life long.
Take care and be brave to act on it. Never lie to your parents...rather gather family support around you.
