I hv a 2.5 months old baby boy. Since he was underweight at birth (2.4kg),doc advised lactogen feed along with bm.He is still fed on both my bm and formula. he is now 4kgs. is this correct wt. for his age.
2 things worry me a lot.
1)how important is burping after every feed? is it very necessary or is it ok if we put him on shoulders for 5-6 mins. Am very much worried about this coz he sometimes pukes in small amounts and his sleep gets disturbed. these days he pukes in little quantities after almost every feed.Once he almost choked and wasn't breathing for sometime. thats why am very much worried.I make it a point to put him on my shoulders until he burps. but my husband and in-laws do not care about burp and just put him on shoulders for 4-5 mins and put him bk even if he doesn't burp.pl. advise.

2)my baby moves his hands and legs very vigourously whenevr he is awake. whenever he does this, his hands and feet get very cold and his head gets heated up. is this normal? also, is it ok if we put the baby on our laps and shake our lap to make him sleep?

juhy replied. Burping is really good for small babies.dont worry if he pukes.it is just the excess milk then dint enter his stomach,that is why we need to burp them.there is nothing wrong in making your baby sleep in your lap.
it is good to ask your pediatrition about your babys vigorous movements.
