HI Vandana,
My son is also 7.5 month old.
I give him cerlac 2 time one in morning any wheat flavor and one in evening rice flavor.
I had also heard this from many others that not to give cerlac as its not good but its not so. As roops said if it was not good that is should be banned till now. I think ur doc wanted u to give him some home made things to ur baby that’s why she told not to give cerlac. Go and read abt the goodness of cerlac on Google.
There are so many flavours coming with cerlac. It’s easy to make and not need to add milk. Just add boiling water and that’s its.
If ur daughter is doing well i.e. gaining proper weight and height than go with ur doc and if not try it..Aarush was vomiting and not gaining weight and after introducing this he is fine.
One thing more do ask ur doc in ur next visit that what is harmful in CERLAC.

Hi vandana..i dont know why ur doc has said not to give cerelac at all..yashita' s doc is very good and she has done her studies abroad and she says that there is no harm in giving cerelac..if it was bad and everyone knew it..wudnt it be banned by now!!!
again we are not saying that u SHOULD give cerelac..if you have been able to prepare natural food for your kid and he/she is liking it, then there is no harm giving home made food..natural food are always better than these readymade items..
i am full time working mom and i dont normally have the time to prepare home made food for all the 3 times of her meal..so one time i give her cerelac, one time ragi and one time some home made food like mashes fruits or vegetables or rice& dal etc..
kids generally like sweet tasting food..so first start some fruits like bananda, apple, chickoo..once he started liking the taste, gradually try sweet carrots, potato etc..
cerelac tastes great and kids love it too and it has all the nutritional value..so its a win-win situation for both mom and baby :)
all the best..
