i have a child for delayed speach.he is 2yrs & 2 month. first i consulted a speech pathologist ,when he was 1 3/4 months ,she detected it to be tongue-tie. but when i consulted an ENT specialist he said it is normal at this age.
but my child is not speaking yet. he babbles a lot. he responds to some rhymes. only when crying he says mama, dayee(for daddy). he can't understand full sentences. he doen't understand my request like give, take, come, stand, sit. everything i have to make him do forcefully. he is fond of cars & all wheeled toys. if we go for shop ,he forces to buy and he is adamant at times.it takes very long time to make him come to normal.
he responds to doggy's sound, where rahul.
he dosn't point out to things. for his desire items he takes our hand for its reach. for toilet he always drags our hand and put it on potty.
i consulted pschyatrist. she suggested for speech therapy & play school. he is going for that. but daily when i leave him to school he always cries, but then he becomes normal.
pl. do suggest.
pl. reply , whether u had seen like this child.

I had the same thing with my daughter and spent hundreds on seeing specialists to find out the cause... All that money later the answer was simple... I allowed it to go on. There were concerns about her hearing, he development, my skills and even that she might be retarded... She was infact healthy but she was also shy so we spend months with a child psychiatrist to help us try to bring her out of her shell.

The key is to get her to begin ASKING for the things she wants... As you say she isn't using sentances begin with words... If she wants a drink show him it and say drink pls... ask her to repeat again another 3 times.... everytime she makes an attempt make a big show of it... tell her she is a good girl and reward him with hugs and claps...

If she refuses to try than put the glass down and wait a moment and then go to offer it repeating drink pls again... Keep trying and be strict. Try 3 times(that trying to get her to repeat 3 times in 3 seperate tries) and then give the drink over and let her know that you're feeling sad she can not say drink...

This can be used with EVERYTHING... when we brushed her hair we would say BRUSH and show the brush... Shirt and showed the shirt to her when dressing... Even when trying to get her to say peoples names you can do this. We would touch our chest and say MOMMA and for her RADHA... etc...This is the advise our speech threapist gave us and with in a few weeks my daughter was talking ALL the time... Believe me if you perservere she will begin speaking....

dear mom,
i have the following suggestions
1. consult a paediatrician and do a hearing test to rule out any hearing disorder
2. consult a child psychiatrist who will further evaluate his behaviour as early intervention helps in better progress.
3. pls give individual play therapyand speech therapy
hope this information is useful to you, do not worry and please see a doctor soon. all the best.

Speech/language delay - 2.3 yr old boy
Hello Everyone

Our 28 months old boy is not speaking simple 2 or 3 word sentences yet. He speaks a few words such as mama, papa, aunty etc but definitely not more than 10. Also, he doesn't understand slightly longer sentences, even when we speak slowly and enact it such as "we'll go out after we eat". Otherwise, he appears perfectly normal. Hints for Nursing
Babies eat and eat and eat. Although nature has done a pretty good job of providing you and your baby with the right equipment, in the beginning it's almost guaranteed to be harder than you expected. From sore nipples to tough latch-ons, nursing can seem overwhelming.
