its so sad to read of so many problems with relationships and especially in laws for the wife...
am also stuck in one such problem.plss try to advice me something.we are in U.S.my in laws are in india in our place...they r forcing us to buy a house in india...they say they r ready to bear a part of the cost also now..so that we re pay it later..am fine with all this..but the problem lies with my hubby...he just listens to whatever his mom says .. leave alone house buyingg....but he does ask me my opinion as well before anything...but why can' t he just take my opinion instead of his mom' s. his mom also tells him to tell me everything and consult with me also. but i just want her to not give any opinion anyway...this issue is bothering me.
how do i handle this laserphlo replied. I dont think you can directly tell your MIL not to give advice, neither can you tell your hubby not to listen to his mom. The trick lies in winning his trust and making sure he listens and discusses with you more than his mom. You have prove over a period of time that he needs to respect you and listen to you more than his mom. You have to do all this without hurting his relationship with his mom. It is not easy, but doable for a woman. Some people do it with charm too.. :)
