Planning a Baby  Discussion Forum

I conceived through IVF middle of last year but had to under MTP at 22 weeks since the baby was diagonosed with Spinal Bifida.There were no genetic factors and I had been on folic acid long before I concieved. I am planning another attempt.
& I am on higher dosage now.

Has anyone else been through this before. What could be the other causes other then Folic acid for spinal bifida.
Is the timing of the daily medication for IVF anything to do with what has happened.I Understand that IVF procedure per say does not increase the probability of NTD.

I would be happy to hear others experiences.
Krishna replied. Dear Friends, I lost my first son due to stealtical disorders and now having a health second son but facing issues since my wife is having early delivery situation. All I want to say is that it is very important to keep your spirits and faith. You need to over come the loss and understand that a second or thrid will bring you good results. Doctors has only partial knoweldge due to lack of research data on birth defects. Keep your faith and don;t give hope

Am desperately in need of information abt that as I lost my first baby due to neural tube defect.and the reason is unknown
i came to know that apart from genetic, folic deficincy it cabe due to food poisioning go forToxoplasmosis Test.
