Kids & Food:Idea - Porridge for baby

I can see some of you cracking head on what to feed baby. My baby is 7 mnths old now. I started feeding her porridge one mnth back. Initially I gave her once a day (lunch). Now I’m giving her twice a day 12.00noon and 6pm.

I usually cook the rice and add in fruits or vege (list given below), leave it to cold for 20 minutes then I will grind it to become smooth paste and feed her. Do not put salt until the baby is 1 yr old. Adding salt at this stage may effect their kidney.

Potato, carrot, pumpkin ( add in the beginning of cooking together with rice)
Papaya, apple, (add 5 minutes before removing from cooking)
spinach, broccoli ( add when the porridge is half way cooking)
Sometimes you can also give plain porridge.

How do you make porridge for 7 months old? Porridge of oats or dalia? And do we use the normal oats we get in the market or is there any special baby oats available. What about dalia? can babies be given dalia?

So my sister’s child is a very fussy eater. She generally makes veggie cheese rolls or sandwiches to get her to eat her vegetables. She tries to use colourful and pretty veggies to get her to eat. Giving smoothies, fruit salads and milkshakes is another appetizing and attractive method. In fact she even decided to supplement her diet with Immuno Boosters and Brain B... - say [View Message]
