I am vm from june board,
manasi thank u so much for letting me know about it i am bit relived now,but i was not able to know where i will get information about it in ur board,As anyone done AFP test in april board,is it safe should i go with it or not.

AFP as I told u before is a simple blood work just like the prenatal blood works you have done in your first visit.

You can find a lot of info about this test on the web. Just go to some search engine and type AFP test info. For the Amnio test u can see a question Shalu had put in our board. Its the one that uses a syringe injected in your tummy to do the testing. Dont get confused abt these two tests ok... There is no need to do the Amnio test if u r not above 35 or ur doc didnt recommend it.

AFP test is done to detect any birth defects . I had it done in 16th week.
They will draw some blood from the mother thats all. its an optional test, ie if u want u can take it. some people prefer not to take it as there are some false positives sometimes. I took it to make sure the baby is fine.
