I am the 1st daughter to my parents and have a younger brother and sister.All of us siblings live outside India while my parents live in India.My brother is yet to be married.My parents have long retired from their jobs and now live on pension and own 2 houses and some ancestral farmlands.Since my parents dont earn anymore we siblings dont expect any material goodies from them and infact spend quite a bit on them when we go to India.From the beginning we all knew that they favoured my brother for the simple reason he was a boy but we just ignored the fact.Earlier this year my father fell sick and so called my brother to India and showed him his will according to which he left his entire wealth to my brother completely ignoring us sisters.Though my mother and brother also didn't like this,my father refused to budge.This was conveyed to me by my brother when he came back.I was very upset by this.Though I really dont need anything from my parents,the thought of being left out completely hurts me.I am yet to discuss this with my sister.Also we plan to go to India in summer and I dont know how I should react with my parents.I dont wish to tell my husband or his family about this and their is no one I can confide this in.I dont want my parents to think I expect money from them but I dont think I can hide my hurt also from them.Please someone suggest what to do? Priyanka replied. I really don't think it's a big deal & that you should feel hurt or anything. I know, you don't expect anything from your parents & you should continue to do so. I also live outside US & feel very guilty about the fact that I am not able to do anything for my parents..& the fact that I am here in the US enjoying good quality life where as my parents are not ....& it's only because of them I am here...I mean the way they brought me up & all the endless sacrifices they made for me....

So if I were you, I would not have felt bad...but would have tried to think from their point of view...may be it's because they are old fashioned & that older people believe in giving everything to son since they consider that all they could their daughters is what they spent in their weddings.
