Due Date Club April 2004:questions

Hi all:

Did any of you get a chance to check Graco Metrolite Travel System or Graco Quattro Tour Travel System? Any comments on these? How about Eddie Baur?

Also need suggestions on where we can find a postpartum wear maternity belt? Like the one we get in India to wear after delivery to shrink your tummy.

Do let me know.

Yes. I looked at Graco MetroLite at Babies R Us. I am personally against the travel system thingy as it seems you will end up buying more than one stroller as your baby grows up. To cut it short this is what I think I am gonna get for my baby...

-Peg Perego Aria (Stroller)
-Graco SnugRide (Car Seat which is comaptible with Peg Perago Aria)

And this makes my own \";Travel system\";.

My hubby who so much wants to buy this bugaboo frog which is like 700$ is also not bad if you can afford it. I am so much trying to stop my hubby not to buy this...

http://www(.)bugaboo(.)nl

I am glad he has not seen the silver cross stroller which run like 2500$, yes it is not a typo. It is 2500$....

Well, I hope he is gonna stick to Peg Perago and Graco.

thought you would like to see this info

Graco SnugRide infant carrier/child safety seat ----recalled

Problem: When used with base as a child safety seat, carrier could detach from base in crash, subjecting child to serious injury.

Models: 918,930 safety seats made 8/31/99 to 2/28/02, including the following models (model number may be preceded by the letter "A"): 7493G9, 7493RS, 7497HL, 7497SY, 7499LK, 7499N2, 841101, 841102, 841103, 841203, 8412T02, 8457D5, 8457DVB, 8457F3, 8457GP, 8457IND, 8457MA, 8457MV, 8457RG, 8457TMJ, 8457TMP, 8457YL, 8458A5, 8458AE, 8458B7, 8458D8, 8458FKB, 8458HE, 8458HH, 8458KY, 8458N5, 8459VL, 8460LV, 8462HAV, 8462JAM, 8471UVB, 8472BLW, 8473BRN, 8472CYP, 8472GMP, 8472MAD, 8472YL, 8474HAB, 8474MEL, 8476VIN, 8477HAV, 8477JAM, 8477NGS, and 8478SAR. Model name and number, as well as date of manufacture, appear on label on seat or base. Hazard exists because of missing hardware (metal hooks and U-shaped bars) used to secure seat to base. Base was also sold separately through Graco Customer Service. If base was purchased that way, model number may not be evident: you will need to contact the company to determine if the device is subject to recall. Model 8458 was among the seats included in our July 2001 report; the one we bought and tested was not missing any hardware. The seat portion of the unit can still be used as an infant carrier or safety seat when strapped to vehicle without the base, according to Graco.

What to do: Call Graco at 800-345-4109 for free replacement seat or base. Company will also help consumers identify suspect models.
