Hey dear,

Dont worry, here the doc wont simply ask you to get induced... That should be the best for you, that' s why they are saying so...

Am done with the shopping... I did in July itself as my hubby travels to Rochester,NY for work and he comes to me only once in 2 weeks... Had to do it then...

About Sitz bath, yes they offer it, but it is your choice if you need it or no...

Take care of yourself... Be happy and do whatever the doc says to you... They will always do the best you need... Am not dilated too... In the 38th week till wednesday... Hope to be dilated in Wednesday' s appt...

Will keep you all posted...

Love,
Vini :)

hi seema ..
welcome to our board ..i m vidhi n this is my first preganancy too i m in my 38th week now ..i m situated in latin america n evn i m alone too ..nobody is thr around to help me ..my hubby is having rare office timings too ..neverthless dont worry abt babys weight evn my cousin deliverd a small baby n its been a mth tht i have seen baby growing so weell dont worry jst feed baby religiously every two hrs ...n thr r so many women who pass thier due n have to be induced ..i know natural contractions n water breaking r better than induction but whatever the DR says might be good for ur ababy ..ur cervix is soft means u might hve either lost mucuos plug or ur baby might hve engaged itself so no harm ..many women dont realise abt loosing mucuous plug 2 weeks before the engagement n delivery ...even i m due on 16th the dr told if i dont have any pains or signs of labour he will induce me so dont woorrry ..as long as safety of ur baby is concerned
take care

Hi dear,

Welcome to the gang... Am in USA too... In Chicago... What about you? My mom is with me though... This is my first baby too and am having a baby girl... What about you?

Am in the 38th week now and I have not dilated and my cervix is not becoming soft at all... And my baby weighs big for her gestational age...

The softening of the cervix is called effacement or thinning... Don' t worry, many women go through the same... Doesn' t mean that you will have to go through something rough... They must have decided to induce you coz your baby is small and must have stopped growing inside you, so it actually doesn' t make sense keeping him / her inside... ok... Don' t take any tension... My doc has asked me to walk a lot so that the cervix thins and dilates... I go for long walks in the mall daily... And best part is my baby has not even dropped into the pelvis... She is too high... Hope my walking brings her down...

You wanna talk about anything, do write here and one of us will surely respond...

Take care and love to your little one...

Love,
Vini :)
