Sleeping:waking many times plz help anybody...

Hi ,
My son is 3 months & 10 days. His weight is 15-16 pound. he was having a very regular sleep pattern like he would go to bed at 8 and feed and sleep.will wake up at 4 am feed and then at 7 am. then he would take every 2-3 hr one feed. he is exclusively on breastmilk.

Since 7-8 days he is been waking up in night evry 2 hr and takes a feed of 5 mints and sleep. This disturbs my sleep a lot. Doc said his weight and height gain is very good above average. why then he wakes up?
also he seems a restless these days in night.
what could be the reason....how to deal with this.
Experience mom please help me.

Thanks,
Perks

Beleive me if u ensure that u feed at regular intervals of 3 hours ur baby not only will sleep well in the day but also the night. i have a 4 month old and today he sleeps from 9:30 to 5:30AM. first we got him to regularly feed in the day exactly when 3 hours were up more like 6AM,9,12,3,6,9. Once we went thru about 4-5 days of this pattern and remember even if the baby is asleep wake him up for the feed. if restlesss and cranky distract and play or walk with them but ensure u dont give in b4 3 hours are complete. Then in the nights keep the baby in his cot and if they cry try this for 10 min just tap their back and leave them crying. if within 10 min u think the crying is aggrevating then give a feed else u will c that they will fall asleep crying and wake straight at 5. even then do not feed. let them cry else get the husband to walk with them till its 6. then feed and put them down again.

This worked for me and even when the baby is just 2 months we can do the same and get them to sleep. sadly no one told me this earlier on and missed out on a lot of sleep for 3 months.

Put him near you when he sleeps. He might be having some disturbances at night. Don't bring out when the sky has turn dark for sometimes.

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. Could you please provide me with more ideas that can promote better sleep for her?... - Sanchari Tarafdar [View Message]

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
