Hi Mother,
If you want to have soft chapatis then you need to make them before you eat. That is correct for your problem.

Hi Mother,
If you think that chapati is not so soft then it would be better you change lunch in the box and you can keep soft chapati during night as dinner.

Hi Mother,
So chapati would be soft for long time is possible but it would depend on type of flour you are using also. And put it in hot box.

Hi Mother,
Why do you keep chapati for kid in lunch box it is better try to put rice in his box.And you give chapati at home either in the morning or at dinner no problem for that.

Hi Mother,
Yes chapati will become so harder with in few minutes after making it.It is better use less oil while you make them. And put them in hot box it may solve some issue of yours.

Subject:  for soft chapathi for lunch

any wheat flour
1-2 pinches of salt
1-2 pinches of sugar
2 tea spoons of ghee
mix with boiling water

Initially use a spoon to mix since you will use boiling water, and then make dough with hand only.

With this even if you make chapathi' s for lunch, it will be soft, not dry at all.

In this way, no need to prepare dough the previous night also. Fresh dough will serve the purpose.
