I want to have lighter skin but my tan wont go away. I' ve tried staying out of the sun and using lemon juice and cucumbers but it doesn' t work. Any ideas? Rita replied. I' m Irish and I don' t understand why you want to have a lighter skin colour, whereas I want a nice tan, a lovely orange-brown skin colour. Take me from me, you are very, very lucky to have a tan. Whatever skin colour you are, be proud of it!
By European standards, I am ghostly white in arms and neck. I have to use fake tan, so that I don' t stand out as a sore thumb among those who are naturally tanned. Moreover, I have problems with getting a tan of desired colour, as I' m prone to sunburns and if exposed to sun for longer periods, my skin' s freckles darken. If you were a TANNED native of my homeland, you would be classed as being very rich and well-travelled, whereas a pale-skinned person invites contempt for being less travelled, unadventurous or poor. logic replied. Which person told you that lemon juice and cucumber removes tans? What a joke!
If that was the case, pharmacies would stock lemon and cucumbers to remove tan, and no one would be DARK!
Apply logic! if you have a brain, use it!
And dont use any prescriptions given here, they might or might not suit your skin. Dont be cheap, stop buying cucumbers and lemons, save money and go to a good dermatologist. nancysharon replied. hi
Im nancy.I too had this problem and blochy pigmented spots.In my case Lctic acid 10% cream in the morning followed by a sunblock 20 mints later,and kojic acid cream (KOJI VIT) at night helped me.Besides 2 times a week at night i used azelaic acid cream 5%(pimple cream that works mainly on melanin)In india its known as AZIDERM.In 2 months my tan got lightened.Aziderm cream slightly stings,.Useful home remedy my derm gave me was a combination of oats,curd and lemon juice.
