Due Date Club April 2007:Need advice

I am currently in the UK and am 9 weeks pregnant. I am returning to bangalore soon and will be living at HSR layout. Can anyone advice me of a good gynecologist in the area. Also, do tell me which is the good hospital to have the delivery. I had an emergency c-section with my first baby due to abruptio placenta. What are my chances of having normal vaginal delivery this time? In Bangalore is epidural routinely offered at all hospitals? My gynecologist during my first pregnancy was Dr.Shaibya Saldanah and I had a very good experience with her. I would like to consult her again if possible. Does anyone know if she is still practising in Bangalore, and if so, could you get me her contact info please.

I will get you the number next time (for sure!).

I found out that she is consulting at Acura hospital only and not at Sagar Apollo. So Koramangla might be a li'l far for you.

You could go see Hema Divakar once (her hospital is in JP Nagar; not too far from Jayanagar) and see if she suits you. I will definitely pass on saldanah's number to you in a day or two.

Sunil.

We live very close to HSR layout.
Dr. Saldanah is very good. As a matter of fact, she even has the reputation for doing a lot of VBACs. So if you are leaning towards giving vaginal birth a shot, then saldanah is certainly the best. We had our first baby last year at Divakars. The doc's name is Hema Divakar. Believe me she is very good and the facilities are great. (Just that the CSection rates are quite high at her place). Nevertheless, she is excellent. I dont remember Saldanah's number but am sure my wife does have it. Shall pass it on to you. And yes, epidural is routinely offered.

I believe Saldanah is now consulting at Sagar Apollo Hospital. (She was with Acura earlier on).
