Hi All,

do u thing its a problem if the stomach is not getting cleared? plus what sud i do abt the abdominal pains? is it normal to have this pains at 8th week?
secondly i have developed a high vomitting tendency for few days and am allergic to any smell be that good or bad. any smell turns me off and i feel like vomitting. is there any remedy for all these that can make me feel a bit ok. past few days am feeling very miserable due to all these..

The abdominal pain felt during early pregnancy is mostly due the stretching of the ligaments which support the uterus. Since the uterus is getting bigger to accomadate the baby, any action which might cause a change in your intra-abdominal pressure might cause a pain/pull in your lower abdomen. These pains usually happen when you cough, sneeze, get up suddenly from a sitting/lying position etc. Lower abdominal pain in pregnancy could also be due to an upset digestive system. You have mentioned about constipation and this might be giving you problems with gas and bloating which could also be mistaken for lower abdominal pain. You could start by taking in plenty of water to keep your systems clean. Ginger has a lot of beneficial effects in curing the nausea and vomiting. You can try drinking ginger tea (without milk) or if you can manange, munch on a little raw ginger. Eat frequent little meals as empty stomach can worsen the sickness. Nibble on nutritious snacks like fresh fruits, plain cereal etc. Avoid chips and other fried items. Morning sickness (or rather all-day sickness) can take out all the fun out of early pregnancy. You should get as much support as you can and try to relax as this will all clear up in another 2 months time. Anyway, it is best to talk to your gynecologist about the pain you are experiencing.
