I have been using half a lemon covered with salt on my face (rubbing it on and deeping it on for 10 mins everyday) for a week. Does this make your skin more even? i know it makes my skin softer.

Any other part of the body, salt is okay but not on the face, it is too harsh. I wouldn' t use it.
What you are doing is exfoliating your skin to make it softer. Exfoliants should not be used all the time. Our skin renews itself every 28-32 days (if I am not mistaken) so once a week will be enough depending on your age. As you get older, you would want to exfoliate more but definitely not every day.
