Due Date Club December 2006:back pains

Hi

Hope everyone is doing really great. Well as my tummy gets bigger, and the kicks are harder my excitement level is also on a rise...

I have to sit long hours in front of a computer for my job and I have a terrible back pain which is really annoying, the pain is not in an particular region but its concentrated on a specific point, hey all you expectant mommies, any suggestions how I can avoid/ help this?

Also I hear this is the best time to take a holiday as it will be difficult to move around as I get bigger so I’m planning a little outing soon. Anybody been on a holiday recently? Share the experience & the tips.

Hi,

Sorry to hear about your back pain. I suffered from severe back pain for more than a year before pregnancy. It was pretty bad and i had to take chiropractic treatment for it. So i was very scared i'll get it again in my pregnancy... so far i have back pain sometimes and it is mild. My doctor told me use hot compress and take a warm bath in the tub.

I recently went to DC, in my 24the week. It was a road trip, around 7 hrs drive from where i live. We took 10 hrs to reach there. Well it was a very tiring and exhausting trip for me. Lot of walking... I cried 2-3 times due to exhaustion!! I even had to visit the hospital when i got back as i got abdominal cramping!! But all in all i recovered in 4-5 days!! And now taking 2-3 more short road trips! since my in-laws are here we have to take them around!!

All i would say is stay hydrated. Drink lots and lots of water/fluids. It is very very important!! And dont get over heated. If traveling by car, take a break every 1 hr and stretch. Wear sneakers/or comfortable shoes. Carry some snacks with you in your purse. And yes Take it easy!! I would really say one thing .. please be aware of your body and whats going on, dont exert your self beyond your capacity. Listen to your body. I dont know where your live, but if it is still warm, carry a small mini fan in your purse in case you are out walking and get hot!!

Which week are you in now??

Sorry for being too long!!

Good luck and have a safe and happy journey!!

Hi Mv Arian,
I think it would be better you would take long leave from your office because at this stage you must not face any crisis which would you put in problem only.... - Pandey [View Message]
