Due Date Club August 2003:Baby Movements!

Starting from the last one week, I feel lot of baby movements. It's quite amazing to have that feeling right?! In my last appointment when I was asked by my doctor, whether I have any feelings of baby moving I said, No and was little upset thinking of the fact that I didn't feel any movements at that time. But the doctor said, it's OK, some women feel little early and some little later when they are nearing their 20th week. Now when I completed my 19 weeks, I started feeling this and I am happy.

Anyone wants to share about your feelings about the baby movements and when you started feeling that?!!

Waiting for baby movements

Congrats to you all. I am due in September. I have joined the sept club but it seems everyone in quite busy and there is not much activity going on in our club.

I thought I will talk to you guys since I am not very far behind. I have OB appt on next friday, eleventh April. I have started the seventeenth week but not feeling any movements yet. I guess since it is the first pregnancy for me it will still be 2-3 ore weeks before I start feeling the movements. Is that right? Also I have started feeling a little heavy in my lower abdomen now. Do you guys feel that too.

How about baby names? Have you all started looking? Anyone found out if it is a boy or a girl?

Looking forward to many replies.

Hi Moms to be,

I am a new entrant to your club but i must say that its really nice to see how actively youll discuss all the issues related to pregancy.My EDD is 14th August and I have already started feeling my baby's movements..its is like someone gently tapping you from within.Its a great feeling.But I wanted to ask youll is that how often do you get these movements within the day.

istn't that wonderful! I am not very regular to the site, but was quite thrilled to know that we both have the same EDD. All the best! Yeah, i feel my baby a lot too...and it is wonderful, poor men!!!

baby movements

Hi Mrinal,

Even I wanted to know as to often we r supposed to feel the movements. My EDD is 21 st Aug. Sometimes I feel for a span of 30-45 min....And For me it is usually in the evenings. I don't feel much in the mornings. Let me know as to how u guys r feeling. & Somedays I don't have any or very little movements.

Hi Monika,
I don't exactly remember when I felt the baby movements for my first one. But what I do remember which I read in a magazine is usually for the first one you feel that little later than the second time mommies do. But it's definitely depends on us. As each one of us is different, the way we feel the movements should be different too.

Even there were few second time mommies who felt their baby movements in their 16th and 17th week but I did only in my 19th week. So, don't worry about it too much. It will happen. Because you have an appointment next week, you may double check with your doctor about this and also about your due date change etc. ( I saw the message you posted on the other board as well.)

Hi Sapna,
Even i started feeling baby movments when i was in my 16 weeks.this is my second baby.I'm now 22 weeks preg.Day by day movements are getting stronger,sometimes i feel a big kick.I think i'm going to have a gymnast...ha ha

Hi Sujatha,

I'm not yet able to feel my Baby's movements yet !!! :(
May be b'cause the Radiologist told me that I'm 2 week's behind as far as the baby's growth is concerned due to my delayed periods. Let see........ Desperately waiting for that moment....

Hi everyone...
even iam feeling some movements.But am not sure whether it is the baby movement!!!.It is very very gentle.Am trying to convince myself that it is the baby movement.My doc said usually we will experience more b/n 20 to 22 weeks.
Anyways, even that gentle movement is also a very good feeling.Now i feel the baby is there with me ! and playing around.

I have also recently started feeling some movements. Initially wasn't sure whether it was the baby... but am convinced now... its like a gentle tapping. DO you feel the same way ?
