Hi ravs,

I hope I' m not too late with my suggestions..

The best person to advise your sis would be her ob/gyn doctor. If she is planning to breast feed, then she should have a healthy diet that includes 1200 mg of calcium a day and 50 mg of protein a day.

Any vigorous exercise should be avoided till 4-5 weeks or until the doc recomends.

Walking however will be good for her...

And please, there is nothing like don' t put hands in cold water etc...or stepping out of the house for 40 days..it might have been true in olden times when women had to go and work in the farms and this way they got some rest at home...but nowadays, this kind of old wives tale is not necessary.

She can be up and about as soon as she feels comfortable. There is no need for her to be confined in her house for 40 days...

take care and congrats to yr sis...and to you for becoming a masi...:)
