How good treatment a doctor does depends on how good human he or she is! I took my mother one evening to Sagar Clinic, Indiranagar, Bangalore for some gynaec related problem to meet Dr Jaya Bhat. I did not have a prior appointment but checked with the receptionist on phone whether Dr Jaya will see my mother. She needed urgent attention from a doctor. The receptionist was kind enough and asked us to go the clinic. We waited until all patients finished their turn. It was about 8:30 PM when all patients were done. When Dr Jaya saw that we were waiting for her and did not have prior appointment, she told the receptionist. “I will see patients who have only prior appointment. I will not see this patient even if she has an emergency. If she has emergency ask her to go to Manipal Hospital”. She came out of her cabin, made a big face at us and walked out of the clinic.
She was done with all her patients by 8:30 PM and it would have taken her only 10 more minutes to see my mother. But she was rude and denied seeing my mother. We had return just because we did not take appointment on the previous day. Her behavior was not at all human. How can a doctor behave like this? I felt she was immature and rude and felt as if her medical degree should be cancelled. I do not think doctors are taught this. By profession, their first duty is to see the patient. But a person who is not even human, how can she be a good doctor. She may be having good knowledge but what good is it, if she cannot use it when someone really needs it. A woman who does not have a sense of caring, can she be a good doctor. Make your choice wisely!!!!!

A good Gynaecologist is a doctor who is dedicated,competent and understands your emotions.I see all these qualities in my doctor, Dr Sharmishtha Patra, who blessed me a child.I am always indebted to her.
