I have a 6.5 months daugther and I have been BFing her till now. She also used to get one feeding of formula from past 2 months as I work full time and I won't be able to pump more than once at work. But recently from past 1.5weeks I have noted that my supply is down when I pump at work. I used to get around 4.5-5Oz and now I am getting around 3.5-4 Oz, which is not enough for her. So the babysitter has to supplement her with around 1.5-2 Oz formula. What herbal supplements can I try to increase my supply?
Here is my schedule:
I feed her in the morning and sometimes she does not drink well...so on those days I pump the remaining milk.
Afternoon at around 3:30pm I pump...I have tried pumping early but am not getting enough milk. So I try to pump a little late.
Night I feed her at around 8:30-9pm and then at around 11:30 I give her formula.

Please help ladies...how can I increase my supply? Is it even possible to increase now at 6.5 months? I have started feeling so guilty as I want to feed her until she turns one atleast...TIA vanitha replied. hi
iam vanitha , i saw urs message, u eat the vegetables like the long stick shaped vege which is avail outside in kannada they say nuggekayi ,nuggekayi soppu etc..if u eat there will more of milk production ,i think it works out for u probs Prachi replied. hi there,

to increase BM , try haveing bajri porridge..rosat bajri powder till it turns brown, then add boiling water to make a not very thin consistency, add a little jaggery and roasted ajwain let it boil well, then add a little ghee...drink it hot atleast a bowl, in the morning..it works...trust me...and pump, the morw u pump, the more u will produce...al the best
Prachi momtwiceover replied. Hi! Firstly stop feeling guilty. 6.5 mnths is a good age to be fed on BM . As the baby is getting older your milk is not going to be enough for her growth .Gradually bring down your feeds and start on juices and formula for the baby. By the time your baby is 7 or 8 mnths you can start with baby cereal and friuts mashed. So you can still feed four to five times a day but add other things gradually By 9 mnths the baby shud be eating mashed vegetables and fruits. All the best. Mom11 replied. Hi Aug05mom,
I'm no expert. But based on my experience nursing or pumping frequently will increase supply. Production of breast milk is due to simulation of breasts. More stimulation, more milk.

I'm breastfeeding my 9 months old son by pumping exclusively. My son never latched properly. So I pumping exclusively.

Add couple of nursing/pumping sessions during the wkends or holidays etc. At 61/2 months, you can still increase you milk supply with little effort.

Drinking plenty of water.

I heard Fenugreek capsules helped for some women. You can try that if you want. i'm not sure about that.
