hello gals,
Since this is my first pregnancy,I donno what 2 eat n what not to..But whatever lil I know,ie my daily diet I' m writing,hope evryone adds on here their daily diet too.
7.30 am-Early in the morning afetr getting upI eat 1tsp of Jaggery(as it is very gud source of iron n folic acid as I' m lil anaemic),fistful of black chana(again gud source of iron).fistful of previous night soaked raisin n 5 badam.n a cup of tea.
Breakfast around 9 am--3 phulkas,some sabji,and 1 big glass of mama protinex.
Brunch(sumwhere around 11.30am --12pm)-Mixed vegtable soup(yes daily I have),1 orange,again fistful of black chana,n amla juice ,n sumtimes Raw mango.
Lunch-(1.15pm)-3 phulkas,sum sabji n dal.
snack 4.30pm-Tea,sum glucose biscuits.
light snack again at 6.30 pm-1 glass of ragi milk,1 apple.
Dinner-Rice dal n sabji,of course curd n again sum fruits.
Hmm I eat a loot I know.But I ought to,coz I' m slightly underweight n my mom strictly makes me eat all these daily!
So gals,it wud be really nice to know ur eating pattern too.So if u have time plz write it down,so that if possible evn we can include sum gud foods 4m each others diet..
anways take care n keep eating healthy-)

I tried my level best to take food properly and somehow increased to 50.5 kg after 3 weeks. When i checked my wt yday i am now at 49.5 kg. So am worried if am taking an healthy one. I get vomit sensation quiet often. Not able to even cook sometimes. Itz only me & my hubby staying here in bangalore. Hope my baby gets all the nutrition required for it. But i am hungry 24 hrs. Any of u having Nausea who can give me tips of how they manage to take food.
But anyways i wud take a printout of all ur diets and try to follow few from them atleast.

im from AUG board,but i read ur post abt diet,very impressd by ur diet,u r following good & balanced diet.follow that even if u feel boar after somedays,well im in my 15th week,in my 1st trimster ihad very much hunger. i used to take like this ,at 7 cup of tea
at 9 rice with subji, rasam & curd
at 10.30 friut
at 11.30 glass of milk (300 ml)
at 1 or 2 p.m i used take lunch as morning
at 3.30 again friuts or soup
at 4.30 tea
at 6 again some fruits
at 8.30 i used to have dinner same as lunch
at 10 milk(300ml)after that also if i feel hungry i used to take apple
as we r far from parents place i could not cook at instat i prefered friuts.
that time i used to have little nausia because of hunger for every 1 or 2 hrs.so i took lot of friuts included all varieties. i could able to eat very little rice .
well i steeped in to second trimstermy nausia redused completely and rt now iam able to eat little more rice.so my friuts intake is reduced.in first 2 months i gained 2 kgs weight next month i gained 1 kg wt. my gynic said iam normal and i can eat what ever i like. sorry for such a big mesge,but i felt i shud share.now onwards i also follw ur diet chart. one more thing is i can not eat dals and sprouts as i suffer with gas trouble. i avoided all dry friuts ,somebody said they provide more heat.ok now i take leave. hey have halthy pregnency :-)

Was I eating healthy?My mom needs to read this then..My mom felt that all pregnant women eat much more healthier foods.Actually it was my mom' s idea to post this question,so that reading other posts she cud get more ideas 2 make me eat more healthier foods.Right now my mom n Mother inlaws only intention is to make me eat more n more healthier food..They felt I eat very less,ther4 My mom came 2 my place 2 make me eat..YES EAT:-)
hmm after reading ur posts I can see that my mom is getting more n more ideas..So may be when I post this question again in the second trimester,my mom wud have included sum of ur eating habbits into mine..but I donno how much I' ll follow coz 4m second trimester,its just my hubby n myself..So may be I' ll not take care of me as much as my mom does now...anyways gals,ur small small tips I 2 can follow...n hope eating healthy continues..Yes I forgot to mention,I dont have nausea(touchwood),so ther4 my appetite or say my baby' s has already increased...anyways gals thanks for giving me ideas..

my diet is like:

around 6- 1 boiled egg + 1 bread
dinner around 9- 2 phulkas with sabji and dal
because of the nausea, i am not able to cook properly (i cant cook at all in the evening) and even if i cook something, i dont feel like eating. wish i had someone here to help :(( i am too waiting for the first trimester to end and hopefully i' ll have better appetite then and the nausea will be gone too.
megnah, i think your diet is really good. i will definitely try to copy and follow it.

after reading your posts.. i am starting to wonder if i am eating right!! i am nowhere near eating such balanced and timed meals!!!
also given the fact that for the last three months i have basically been losing appetite and not wanting to eat...
well..
i usually have a bowl of cornflakes, or oatmeal porridge for breakfast.. which can be anywhere between 8:30 and 9:30
then i usually have a banana at 11..
at 1 i have around 2 rotis and sabzi..
around 4 i eat some fruit.. grapes apple whatever..
at 5 i have a cup of tea...
around and around 7:30 to 8 we have dinner.. which is again roti sabzi.. sometimes with dal... and ocassionally rice..
well.. if i do feel hungry between all this i munch on fruit or a sandwich or milk or whatever i get my hands on!!
i guess i have to rethink and manage my meals better!!!!
anyway.. i am hoping once the first trimester is over.. i will have some appetite and i can start eating balanced meals..
anyway... i am about 2-3 kgs overweight to start with... so i don' t think i need to increase my diet just as yet...
but still....
i think meghnah has an ideal diet.....
i might just steal the diet plan from her...
i wish i had my mom here to cook all that for me.... i am plain lazy when it comes to cooking... i miss having servants here like in india :-(

I think you are having a very balanced diet..
Well my diet is not so balanced...:-( Hope I change it soon..
Breakfast(around 7.30am) - I have 1 bowl milk+corn flakes or 1 apple
4 or 5 dates
(around 8am) - In the office I drink 250ml milk
From 9am-11.30am - I keep munching 1 bread (its a big bread...something like bun)...
Lunch(11.30am) - 1 bowl rice, sabji,
salad, some fruits (either banana or apple) and 1 cup curd
Snack (3PM) - 1 bottle juice (either orange or grape)
Dinner (6PM) - Rice, Sabji, Dal
(Around 9PM) - 1 fruit apple or orange or strawberries
I think I should make many changes in my diet....:-))

if u have that much nausia,try different kinds of fruits,i used to have vomit sensation for every one hr but never i vomitted anything.becos it is a feeling of hunger which is caused by increse in harmones. so nutralise that hunger with anything u like .take it in little quntity for every 1 hr .good idea to avoid nausia in morning is to take a glass of milk when u r going to sleep at night.this reduces a lot.prefer friuts than juices.they provide more energy.hope these help u .

During the first half month of my pregnancy,I was just 50 kgs.Now I´ m 54.I donno whether its because of my diet.It seems during our pregnancy we will put on weight.so that explains my 4 kg weight..
U start eating previous night soaked dry fruits.Its really gud.I know U´ ll like it..n reagarding nausea I cant say anything,coz I dont have it..But I read sumwhere eating lil salty chips n eating in small intervals(ie evry 1hr munching sumthing or the other) will reduce nausea to certain extent..

Thanks a lot for responding for my post..Beleive me,you to have a healthy diet plan..U have included fruits,soup,milk..All this are very gud for our lil baby..Right now I eat sum 4,5 varities of fruits.I feel 24hrs are less for me to eat..Just joking:-)Yup,I know if u have nausea,we tend to eat less.As I dont have nausea,may be I have gud appetite n eat a lot.N regarding dry fruits,its heat I agree,but if u soak it previous night in water n have it next day,its very gud,n it aint heat..The same works for mango too.Since mango produces heat,just soak it in water previous night n eat it next day.All the heat is gone..Thisz what my mom says..I´ ve been following this 4m many days.blv me,it works..anyways all the best.keep writing.

i forgot to tell u that my doc has told me not to take sugar in my diet. my uncles have had diabetes and although my parents dont have it, she said i need to be careful. so no rice for me and no added sugar in anthing.
but since my sugar level was ok, i do take it sometimes (even doc said once ina while is ok). and thats the reason i take tea just once! cant drink sugarless tea :(
and one more thing, when u said eating oranges is good in afternoon, were u saying santra or mausambi?

Yes sprouts is very gud,provided we eat it fresh.We shouldnt eat salads n sprouts from outside.hey ur diet is gud.U just take once tea,n luk at me I have it twice n sumtimes thrice.May be I shd follow ur diet on this, only once Tea..I have heard n read eating whole wheat bread is very gud.so Try n include whole wheat bread in ur diet.n yes make ita habbit of eating atleast 1 fruit daily..I bet from second trimester u will have better appetite,n incude more n more fruits..all the best.n keep eating healthy..

Ur surely eating healthy.In my first month,when my mom wasnt there here with me,I 2 was eating bowl of cornflakes,but it was wholewheat cornflakes.During my TTC stage(ie only 1 month,second month I conceived) only I made it a habbit of eating almonds n raisin.Its really very gud source of protien n blah blah blah..Evn u can eat it now,U´ ll surely like it..U know what,ur meals r gud enuff.just that include 1 more cup of milk,n one more fruit,n yes do eat soaked almonds n raisin..Its very gud.
Yup I know from second trimester when ur appetite is gona increase,I will steal ur diet plan..:-).
anyways take care n keep writing.

Since ur working,I know its very tuff to cook n go to office.Ur really doing a great job.Let mne tell u,If I was working,then I dont think so atleast half of what u eat,I wud have had eaten.
Dates are very gud.they are a gud source of iron.Twice in a week I drink dates milk shake as I cannot eat dates just like that.My teeth is bad,it pains:-)so dates milk shake is better for me.
Do u drink plain milk ya flavoured?Try drinking mama horlicks ya protinex,Its really gud.n when it cumes to bread whole wheat bread is really better than white bread..So try including it..n u know what I have heard if u eat oranges in the afternoon ur baby´ s complexion will improove..Therfore I strictly eat it in the afternoon...Since we r in our first trimester,its not advisable for us to drink kesar milk,ther4 oranges in the afternoon is better option..
hey ramya do u have morning sickness? hey dont change ur diet,just add few more things to ur diet.thats it.. all the best.Keep writing..
