Due Date Club December 2006:swelling in feet

Hello Girls,

since 2 days, I noticed light swelling in my feet...I could first find this through my toe rings which started giving me pain. I also somehow feel that the right feel is swelling more than the left one.

I don't eat more salt in my diet. It is just the pinch of salt we use while cooking..thats it. I have a habit of standing much when working..probably I should reduce that. Are there any other suggestions which you girls could give me? My regular appointment with the doctor is on Sep 6th and I'll let you know what she told me about it.

How are your babies doing:) My baby is active usually in the evening from 5pm to 8pm!!

Good luck,
blessed_mom

Dear Blessed Mom,

Even I have swollen feat. Even my fingers are swollen a bit. My finger ring became tight that's how I noticed. Lately I am relishing salty foods and am also having chips. Should cut down on that and keep a tab on the foods I eat. One of my friend suggested to drink barley water to reduce swelling. I know its already suggested but wanted to add.

My baby is active after I eat generally. Good luck with ur doc visit.

Bye,
leo

Hi,

I too have swollen feet, so much so that my sneakers have become tight for me... Are you taking enough fluids?? I drink a lot of water and also have less salt, but it didn't help... please let us know what your dr said about it.

good to know your baby is doing well. Mine is more active in the mornings and at night just when i want to sleep. But still its a wonderful feeling.

Take care,
poochy

I have the same problem and my doctor advised me to wear some special support stockings during the day. It helps.

Hi Blessed Mom,

I have heard it usually helps if you prop your legs on a couple of pillows when you lie down...it does reduce the swelling to some extent.

Try it out.

Luv to the kiddo

Hi blessed_mom,

Well i dunno much bt ur problem but what i've heard from my friends n elders is, that it cud be due to more salt intake, which u say,u dnt take much, other reason cud be sitting / standing for prolonged hrs. U can try n relax with ur legs folded on chair, this wud really help.
I ususally have swollen heels, which becomes numb by the evening, so once in a while i soak my feet in warm water.
Gud to know that ur li'l one is doing fine, mine too gives me strong kicks aftr meals n it really feels so gud :))
Do take care n update us abt ur Doc appointment.
Luv to ur angel,gud luck
golden
