Sorry Sulabh for the late reply. Let me answer your question. The Vedas are hymns - with or without meaning. Meditating on the sound of the Vedas is said to bring about knowledge of the universe and God. It is difficult to say how. On the other hand, the Upanishads try to bring this knowledge in words with meaning. They are like an explanatory text for people who cannot access the Vedas easily.

Of course, in the hierarchy of scriptures, the Vedas are far superior. Because the Upanishads are truly great, but they have limitations for the simple reason that you CANNOT put truth in words...

Diff between the Vedas and Upanishds

THis was a very interesting article on the Upanishds, alos known as the Vedanta. I am doing a project on the Vedic Hindusim and I want to know what are the main differences in the Vedas and Upanishds.
