Thanks a lot Mam for your prompt and detailed reply,What things make me worry are:-
Firstly my elder daughter was too quick in the sense, she managed to walk independenlty when she completed seven months and she could easily walk four floors (stairs) in mid eight month so this comparison just disturbs me.
Secondly the things you have listed here I feel my son is perfect in these respects, his birth weight was 3.800 kg,hieght 52cms and head circum 36 cms and presently his weight is 7.400 kg, He is quite fussy eater but i do manage by preparing something different every 3-4 days so that he's happy with the taste.... he managed to contol his head when he was 5 mnths old as he had an heavier head that's what i felt.....Presently he recognises when called by name, looks for when we speak in the other room on hearing us, gets very excited and communicates in his language to his sister, reaches to objects by turning around with tummy in one place, holds his head high when he is on his tummy, gets very excited when sees colourful objects and just pulls them to reach towards his mouth with both hands, understands when we are at the door and reacts to reach to that person, reacts to songs, ryhmes and sounds of the birds(love birds) at our place...but makes no attempt to sit, i.e when kept on the lap he places both his legs on the floor and stands erect (we hold him) and when excited in this position marches on the spot i.e lifts one leg and stands on the another quickly, very quickly and when forced to sit back he cries very loudly and wants to stand back again....Now Mam tell me..is it possible to stand without sitting down as i fear that his legs should not bow...and one more most important thing is, Do babies which achive their milestones late will be able perform later say in studies, games or any other activities in the same pace with their fellow children, why i ask this is cause his b'day is on 30.12.2005 so when gone for the academic admission he will fit in the year when 2005's born will be admitted and he'll be the youngest in the class.
I take your suggestion and will talk to my doctor also in detail during this visit, anyways he is on a calcium supplement (Calsuper) for the past one month.
Thanks a lot!
Regards.

Hetal replied. i jst found a bow leg article for you,,,
you might be interested in reading to remove youur doubts..
remove brackets.in your case, no where in article has been mentioned about bow legs has to do with sitting !!
Hetal replied. sorry, had been badly packed and wanted to reply you at peace of mind..
now about your son... his growth looks good to me,,
as far as his strength in legs are concerned, they are strong enough to hold his body weight.the only thing that worries me is the sentence \";when forced to sit back, he cries loudly\";...
can i take this way that when he forced to sit, he cries of pain ? what kind of cry is it..you must be able to judge that...try that..if the pain is the reason, please take him to dr...when sitting if he is crying, means either he is uncomfortable to backbone, muscles associated to it,or hips or even thighs.
looking to the possibility that he is able to stand and likes to walks when excited, doubting any uncomfortable feeling in thigh or hip is kind of eliminated..which means either he is not good with backbone yet !
now considering the fact that your dr has precribed him calcium medication, which i prev also doubted that he needs it, prob your dr knows that his backbone needs an extra lift of calcium.,,
so we just have to wait for that.
generally sitting is considered as a step to crawling and then standing or running,,and in your case, your baby has skipped the stage which brings the possibility that after he masters standing or walking, he will have to sit anyways ! if by that time he doesnt, then its a big prob,,i would suggest you to look for a second dr, for another opinion..i m not trying to scare you but be careful thats all.
now about bow legs. bow legs generally is the result of baby early walking, when baby legs arent ready to support his body weight, resulting the bone to bend a bit,,it has nothing to do with sitting !!! and baby legs are strong enough to hold its body during 3 months onwards,,that wat dr ask you whther or not he is able to hold himself when you take him by your support to make him stand in your lap ! so bow legs has nothing to do with sitting milestone.
now, there is a myth that the babies who achieve milestone late, aare not able to perform in their life with good score or in any activities,,,because when baby gets late, often parents keep this in mind,,,my baby is late,,and then it continues,,and in that mindset it often happens that they dont give the try that they will give with their other kids or they will just leave and wait for baby to show its excellency...
my only 2 words for that,,mental ability can always be sharpen even in case of mental disable kids,,so why to worry when your baby is smart enough by mind !! leave that mindset behind...physical abilities has nothing to do with mental skill set...it all depends on parents mindset on how they bring their baby to the level of the best..and baby always look for support from parents no matter he was late in milestones or early !!
so be relaxed on that,,and let him shine...give him more boost, and see his performance..
in your case, i am only worried about the crying part when it comes to sitting..keep checking on that, and ask your dr about it,,take second opinion,,share the same words that he cries when make him sit ! dr might consider that..
so take care and good luck..
always remember, babies can be groomed by the manner in which you train them, esp mentally,,for physical we can lift them to some level and then we have leave the matter to dr or your baby own growth cycle...,
so trust your baby survival instincts and boost him up ! good luck for admission.

if his standing has startd after calcium suppliment, then the things are improving for him,,and wait until the recommended dosage of that suppliment is over,,or after a month or so, again check with dr or take second opinions..
prob he will start to feel comfortable sitting as well,,if the suppliments are working.
each organ bone makeup is different,so when suppliment is given, different body parts excel in growth in differnt ways when given a lift with suppliments.
if he was standing before the calcium suppliment was started,,then its his own development and being a month, there should be some minor differnce in increase in developement in terms of any activity where bones are involved..
sry abt too many replies..my 1 year old has become my laptop 2day,,,teething makes them clingy.
so answerd in bits and pieces :))
this is my last reply,,though :))
take care, and good luck
