Hi everyone,

Hows everyone coping with 1st trimester???

I had some doubts about food intake, which I thought may be u all can help me clear. Does anyone know what fruits & vegetables to avoid during pregnancy??? I used to hear from my grandma, that a expactant mother should not eat pineapple and papaya. And plus one of my chinese friends here asked me to avoid banana, oranges and watermelon too as they r cold fruits!!! I'm so confused as I'm very fussy about fruits and am left with not much choice...Please help!!!

Hi..Ya they say that papaya was used to end pregnancy in earlier days when there were no other means...Ya I ahve read in many books that papaya & pineapple shd be avoided...as far as bannana, oranges, & watermelon are very good I think u shd further ask ur doctor.My mother had plenty of oranges during her pregnancy so....I am sure its good to have them.

i am 8 weeks pregnant and am due on nov 20. yes, papaya is a total no. i hadnt heard about pinneapple though. all other fruits are ok. you can eat bananas they are rich in calcium, oranges and apples are ok too. all the best
