I know what you are going through, I went through it the same way. What I don't understand is if your husbands SIL didn't stay than why should you. YOu need to talk to your husband and explain to him that you have a family of your own now and that you two need to be responsible parents and learn to live on your own. I am not saying stop talking to your In-laws but you need your space as well. Your husband should understand that there must have been a reason why his SIL's left and moved out own their own, I mean he should also understand that you cannot live like a prisoner in a jail, how would he feel if he had a sister and her in-laws didn't allow her to talk to her parents, your husband needs to put himself in your shoes and see how he likes it. I talk to my husband and we had a nice talk about this kind of situation and we came to a conclusion, we moved out and his parents come and visit us every other weekend and our relationship is a lot better. We visit them once a while too. good luck and all the best

Recently my Dad passed away and my mother will be alone. I have made enough money to retire comfortably but because I am used to the American lifestyle I can't live in India. Recently my relatives have started saying tha... - Venkat Dabri [View Message]
