i am 25 yrs old(married).trying to concieve for past 1 year.my problem is irregular periods.consulted with the doctor.reports show that it is cos of pcos but no any other serious problem than this. i am very depressed because my relatives who got married after me are having a success story. plz ppl guide me.is it possible for me to concieve? if so what are the suggestions???

Hi abc,

If you have been trying for over a year and you have PCOS then it means you are probably not ovulating. You should start treatment on the PCOS issue right away. The doc will probably put you on Metformin and Clomid for a while to see if you start to ovulate. Clomid is a medicine given to induce ovulation.

Also, the most important thing that you can do is that if you are overweight then start to lose weight. Because one of the main reasons for PCOS in women is being overweight. Sometimes when ppl reduce their weight, everything becomes fine, they start ovulating and get pregnant very soon.

So my suggestion to you would be:
1. Ask your doc for the treatment that you need.
2. Get your blood tests and scans done to see what is right way to go about the whole treatment.
3. reduce weight if ur overweight.
4. Do not worry coz stress induces this problem.

As far as i know, irregular period is not a problem in getting pregnant. You just have to DO it at the right time. Did you try the ovulation kit? It will tell you whether you are ovulating on that day or not. This may help you to find the right days to try.

...from the 1st day of ur periods...start having sex from the 7th day onwards...u must hv sex atleast every alternate day ..without fail...
even if he ejaculates inside...the moments u get up..everything will come out..so this is not the reason...
dont get up ...lie on ur back..atleast for half hour...after he ejaculates...continue till 7 days b4 u get ur next periods...if this doesnt work then ..keep a pillow under ur butts let him ejaculate in this position...i mean get ur head on a lower position..than waist..by keeping a pillow under ur waist..lie in this position for atlesat 15 mins after ejacultion...
