hi, i am 10 weeks pregnant now. i heard about internal checkup done by the doctors. will they b doing it every month whenever i go for checkup? i had experienced it once. i was almost in tears and started sweating a lot. i am very very scared.. pls tell me some info regd. this.

Hi V, why are u so concerned. Internal checkup is not that dreadful. and i disagree with the lady who below said good doctors do not do internal checkup. Internal checkup or medical defined as transvginal checkup are the latest technology to identify any associated risk in the very begining. Infact even in the 1 month of preg a doctor can do a trans vaginal check and confirm the live pregnency.
What was the cause of tears u havent made it clear. I dont think it would be pain. coz the instrument used is like a 3-4 inch plastic road hopefull thinner than the organ of ur husband which must have gone many time in and out :). SO I rule out pain as the reason here. May be u were nervous as u might not have expected it. Again I hope the doc who didi must be a lady doc and trust me they do not enjoy looking at ur genitals as its there daily job see more than 2 doz a day. So its not any attraction. Tray an make it clear at ur mind that this simple check up is for the well being of you and ur baby. And let it happen if the doc feels the need be. Don' t feel restless when examination happens just treat it as a general checkup and the medical need. Enjoy the most beautiful day of your motherhod and prepare to welcome the baby. I hope this makes u feel better. Get back if u need more advice on any matter related to pregnency.

Hi

It depends upon the doctor. I have delivered a baby but never had I to undergo internal check up. the doctor used to touch the tummy to know the condition of the fetus. for checking the heartbeat etc he used to use doppler. i am sure good doctors are not required to do internal check up.

Don' t worry internal check up will be performed only in the 9th month. If your doc suggests an internal check up before that i think its time u find a good doc.

i dont know what happened to you during internal check up because i think it is painless procedure for first time.not to worry,doctorll now check up in the last stage of pregnancy.
