Is it okay to take flue shot in pregnancy? Is there any side effects? Answer me soon. These days flue is running here in Canada.

I believe taking the flu shot if you are pregnant and finished your 1st trimester is perfectly safe. The flu vaccine does'nt contain an active or live virus so it's safe to take it. That's what my doctor told me.

Infact we ladies - those who'll be in their 2nd or 3rd trimester during the flu season, fall in the high-risk category of people catching flu during the flu season which runs from early december to early April.

Last week I went and got the flu shot. I don't think there are any major side effects of taking the shot except that your hand could be a little sore for a day or two due to the shot (which is the case with any kind of shot I guess)

I had to drive 30 miles to get the flu shot as all the hospitals in my area and also my doctor ran out of the flu vaccine.

vm replied. i am taking flu shot tomorrow i am from june board,i live in Ny,and since this year it is deadely and more at risk,my doc asked me to take and also i keep hering about it everyday in news and also in CNN asking preg,old people and kids to take flu shot.

I have heard both +ve and -ve comments on it so for me I have decided not to take it. I am trying to avoid situations which can get me a cold or shot. I know its a bit hard especially when u live in a state as cold as NJ in these winter months. My doc also didnt recommend me to take shot when I saw him on 16th so I am going forward with my plan.
