hi all, i read a lot of articles abt colic and gas in babies in this forum...just curious to know the difference? also my doc told me what ever i eat wont create gas for the baby for the food i eat is digested and only my blood is being converted to milk... Colic is a symptom rather than a diagnosis.

Crying in general causes babies to gulp air into their digestive systems. These air bubbles can get trapped in their stomach and/or passed on to the intestine. Gas pain can also be a direct result of air swallowed during crying.

Personally i believe that eating certain foods does effects the baby' s milk. you can figure out this by doing this:

If you eat dinner at 5:00 P.M., and your baby shows the symptoms listed above around 9:00 P.M., think about what you ate for dinner. To be sure if those foods are causing the problem, you will have to eat them again and see if your baby has the same reaction.

If your baby seems very fussy, try keeping a record of what you eat and drink.
If you are taking some medication, it does passes into milk in small amounts and effects the baby.

Colic is acute abdominal pain which is different from gas. neetu replied. hi. see if this helps you. it has info about colic, constipation and reflux. it helped me.
