Due Date Club March 2008:breast pump

Hi everybody...I need an urgent answer from anybody who can help me. I am actually looking for breast pumps that are reasonably priced. Could anybody suggest a site and/or a brand name? What would u guys reccomend? Have you guys researched on breastfeeding. I work full time and I have asked my company if they would have any problem if I took a break to express milk and they don' t seem to have a problem. Since my date is nearing I am desperate to get some information fast. Breast pumps can be so expensive. I plan to post this question in every bulletin here so I can get as many answers as possible...

Hi! I used the Medela breastpump in style. As said in earlier message, it cost around $300, but its worth it. It has a professional performance comparable to what we get to use in the hospitals. I think this is the most effective breastpump I have ever used. I tried other brands also but this is the best.

hi from what ive read on the net and compared prices ... avent and medela have the best breast pumps .. you should buy a dual breast ..manual cum electric pump.. the electric ones come with a battery operation .. so you would find it easy to carry around and use at work .. some of the ones in avent and medela come with backpacks... so it looks like ure carrying a normal bag n you dont have to be embarassed bout carrying your breast pump around ...and of course you need to buy the freezer bags to store the milk

Hi Chitra,

I don' t live in India so not sure about the prices but i have used Avent breast pump, its quite easy to use and is helpful as well when you want to continue feeding your baby while working. Express the milk and put that in the freezer. There are express bags available as well from Avent. All instructions are available with the leaflets....Hope it helps.
