my son is 2 yrs 9 months. he is in nursery, going to school since 18th june. his school is from 9 am to 1 pm. he leaves house at 8.15 am, reaches school at 8.50, has his lunch break at 11.30 am for 15 min. leaves school at 1 pm, but since the auto rickshaw wala picks up 3 other kids from another school at 1.30, and they are dropped home as their residences are earlier in the route, my son reaches his creche at 2 pm. from there i pick him up at 5.45 pm to 6 pm.
whatever i cook for him, turns cold by the time he eats it, and he hates eating cold chapatis, dal, rice or sabzi. i tried insulated tiffin boxes too, but the food gets spoilt by 2 pm(i prepare it by 7-7.30 am).
pls suggest some recipes which he would love to eat, can eat quickly, and are nutritious too. the recipes should taste good even when cold.
i would be grateful to all who send me their recipes, ideas.
regards,
vaijayanti

Your kid school timings are not so proper. He is just kid yaar. But full day is problem for him.It would be better chose some other school for him so that he can get habituated to go to school.
Kittu replied. Hi Vaijayanthi,

Janu replied. Hello Vaijayanti,
You can give him snacks to school because children would feel hungry at any time and you need to put some thing and they will take when ever they feel hungry and teachers would feed them also.So no need to get tensed also.
Priya replied. You can ask the creche lady to heat the food and give it to ur son. She can atleast do this. it takes hardly 5 mnts to heat the stuff.
Priya replied. I am giving you all worried moms nutritious laddoo recipes which you children will eat with no fuss and with their own hands !!! atleast my daughter who is 22 months old eats.
3 spoons of ragi flour
2 spoons of whole wheat flour
1 tps of olive oil ( good for health when eaten raw)
2 tps each of cashew nut powder, almond powder and 4 tbps groundnut powder
3tps of cornflakes and oats powder
2 tps of pure ghee
grated or crushed jaggery as per your sweet taste
pls try to put jaggery then sugar as jaggery is good for health.
you can also add some more things as you feel like raisins, small small pieces of dry dates, some more dry fruits powder.
all this should be fine powder so as children should not find lumps while eating
mix it well and you can roll them into small laddoos and not big ones so that the children will hold them in their hands. if they r not consistent to be rolled in laddoos add more ghee and jaggery . they will form into laddoos. and give 1 in morning and 1 in evening for healthy n nutritious snacks.
pls tl me how you liked my recipe.
