my parents din't get their passports yet.they have applied it one month back and my due date is on oct 2nd.actually we thought we will invite our inlaws,but they had to go to london to take care my sis-in-law's son.i don't think my parents can make it up.so does anybody have an idea about emergency passports and visas.i know we cannot mention the maternity cause.can u suggest anything else.the situation is freaking me a lot,as this is my first pregnancy.i hope u guys will help me out.

Hello J'sri,

first thing don't panic. Have your husband sort-out these things instead you getting freaked out. Enjoy your pregnancy always.

To get a speedy passport, avail the tatkal service in INDIA. Here is the URL link. Replace (*) with (.)

passport*nic*in/tatkaal*htm

There is no way to get a speedy visa. Get interview appt with the us-consulate. Which city are your parents from ?

Don't mention the maternity cause for applying for a Visitor Visa. There are plenty of other things you can say. For example, my parents would like to visit their daughter, like to visit hollywood , disney land etc. The sample-invitation letter are here.

you need your mother's help after delivery

Hello J'sri,

You know what, we all need mother's help more once the baby is delivered. Some people plan to have their mother come a month before. In your case, it's okay your mother is not there during delivery, But SHE WILL BE THERE FOR YOU when you most need her.

If your parents get the passport, go to the TTS website and book an appt immediately. Don't waste any time.

first let me thank u for ur reply.now the problem is even if they apply for tatkaal now,they i have to go through the police enquiry (which is taking a long time these days).my parents live in hyd.even if they get their passport in this month ,the visa appointment will be in oct or nov,and my due date is on oct 2nd .so i am pretty much sure that they may not attend for my delivery.i have to prepare for my self to take care of the baby.anyways as u said i am trying to relax and concentrate about other things like planning to join some maternity classes.i should be all rite once i start getting knowledge about the delivery and baby handling.

Can you tell me why parents cannot mention maternity for visa's.
I am also trying to bring my parents and am just concerned what to do.

Its true, parents should never mention that they r coming here to help u with the baby. The reason for this is because there is a visa called nanny visa and if u want to get anyone here to help u with ur baby, then u hv to get them here on nanny visa. But since its difficult to get nanny visa plus u hv to show proof that u will pay the nanny, parents should not mentioned anything about the baby. They should only mention that they want to come here to see the place and for that tourist visa is issued. Hope this info is useful.

i live in culvercity.well i heard that parents r not suppose to mention about the maternity.i also read some articles about it.i think they should mention only about the visiting USA.(PLEASURE TRIP).
