Due Date Club April 2004:Help Please!

Name: Anuya Hi,
The clinic i'm going to has a team of 4 doctors. The main doctor has an experience of 20 years and the other 3 have experience of 2 to 3 years. This doctor had been suggested to me by my Urologist as I'm having kidney stones problem and he thought that if any complications arise they can workout together.
But I just came to know that the doctor i use to always see (the one my urologist refered)has just left the hospital, so my husband is not very happy about it and want to change the doctor and as for me i really dont know what to do, as sometimes I feel its too late for change. So what should I do? please help me
to deceided.

I think you should find about a doc before you start consulting him..so find an experienced doc and also ask a good family doc to refer you to a doc...
I think you and your hubby should sit together and decide as after 28 weeks no doc will be interested to take your case...which week are u in now...

If there is a similar good doctor with more experience in your area, then i think its alright to change the doc. May be you can ask your urologist to refer. Or if the same doctor has a clinic or is working in another hospital, you can as well continue with the same person. it might be difficult to adjust with a new person intiailly , but if the doc is as good as the first one, then it shouldnt be a problem.

Which week are you now? I do have friends who changed their doc when they started getting contraction so I think it depends on how comfortable you feel in this idea of switching. When you switch now you can always ask them to send all your records to your new doc so I there isnt much to worry about that.

I didnt fully get the idea about you saying your doc is not working in the same hospital anymore. Is he just stopped working in that hospital alone or has he entirely stopped practising in all the hospitals? What I think is if your doc is not participating in the hospitals your insurance provide its a good idea to look for someone new. This way there wont be any issue in the delivery time about getting your doc on time in the hospital you will be admitted.
