Name: Smiletime Hi all I am in my ninth week now. Has anyone had a heart-beat reading or u/s sound done yet? What is the procedure for both and what is the normal reading. My first and I am scared since the only symptoms I have are hunger and fatigue

Hearbeats

I am in week 12th, had doctors visit today. baby heartbeats were around 164 per minute. At my first visit at 8 weeks, heartbeats were 120ish...
Normal during pregnancy should be between 130 and 160 (read in magezine)

some fun info : After 3rd month, if baby heartbeats are < 160 then mostly BOY otherwise GIRL.

Hi Smiletime

I have had both. I stay in Canada but I am fairly certain they follow the same procedures elsewhere.
It was a transvaginal ultrasound and the sonologist measured the hearbeat at the same time as the scan. Unfortunately I have no clue as to what the normal heartbeat range is though I have read articles that said it would be around twice that of an adult. Mine was 166 and I was given to believe that it was fine.

All the best and RELAX. Bless your stars that you have been spared the nausea and vomiting. I have been dying to experience just ONE single normal day since my 5th week !!
