Sleeping:sleep problem

hi,
my 11 month old son still does not sleep thru the night.I give him dinner around 7 and a heavy supper (like ragi+milk/banana+cereal) at abt 11pm.But he still wakes up twice in the middle of the night and wants me to breastfeed him.I believe it is more out of habit than hunger and i've tried giving water instead, but he keeps on crying and ultimately i have to feed him!can anyone tell me how to break this habit of his?

whether he sleeps with u or in his room is not a problem here. Slowly u reduce to 1 night feeding , try n see. When he wakes again, try playing in dark room not feeding him.He will get tired n sleep off. I tried this with my daughter n atlast succeeded after 3 months !!!!!!!!!!!!!
So dont worry. It will take time but be sure not to feed him.The day u stop night feeding, never go back again.
Good luck,
Maha

Hi Maha,

my kid is also almost 11months old. Same problem here. I am getting weak as he wakes up more than twice. I stopped day time feeding and it went well.
I think its a good idea. Let me also try this as I am also planning on stopping breastfeed. I heard that mom should have more control for this(not to take easy way). Hope this works.

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. Could you please provide me with more ideas that can promote better sleep for her?... - Sanchari Tarafdar [View Message]

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
