today there are so many systems of education?
which one shud i go for my child.
shud i go for
- waldorf method
- montessori method
- forebel method
- traditional method

A small little clarification again....Montessori Program starts right from Infacy to 18 years of age.
In India most school run the pre-school program for children aged 2-6, but many schools are now setting up elementary curriculum for children aged 6-12 also in cities like Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai & Calcutta.

Eg. Montessori works good only for Maths, Playway works good for concepts, Waldorf improves listening skills only and is best for kids with good linguistic abilities but not for kids with good logical abilities.

I´ m also inspired by Montessori based teaching but I would like to know some more details about the same. Can you please tell me if you know any montessori schools in Hyderabad and also will it affect my child if i shift him to regular school after a few years.

For Montessori method

Guys...
I guess its no point fighting over Montessori method on thsi forum...it was a parents view and I guess we as parents should do our research on what method to send our child to. If I am a competitive parent and what my kid to go at fast pace in life i would not choose the montessori method but if I am a parent who would like my child to experience things and then learn i might choose this method. I have just some of the information below taken from the google on Montessori method:

The Montessori method developed from experimental research that Dr. Maria Montessori conducted with disabled and mentally challenged children in the early 1900´ s.
The elemanetary does cover all that which is mentioned by Moiza but it is only from age 6 ....whereas here the question was for a preschool...2 year old

I´ ve to completely disagree with your views on Montessori method. It works well for all the areas and is proven. Reading and understanding will help you. Do not misguide other parents with half-boiled info.

About Montessori

Hi Saarika,

I am a die hard montessorian and I just thought i will clarify that Montessori is not only good for arithmatics but also for language, geography, geometry, culture and practical life exercises. The elementary curriculum helps students explicitly understand history and time lines. I would keep on writing, let me know if you need more info on Montessori (authentic info).
