I am 4 months pg & not an asthamatic. For the last one week I have wheezing either at pre dawn hours or after dusk..probably due to pollution.

Is there any medication/nature cure that will not affect the baby..& cure me as well...I am worried with Diwali around the corner.

Just a note that salbutamol (albuterol) is also a bronchodilator. Instead of consuming it as a liquid/tablet you just inhale it.

Good luck. Just stay indoors during Diwali.

I had asthma as a child but no longer have symptoms. But I had wheezing during my pregnancy. It is safe to use inhalers. I used albuterol. I think there is an equivalent (salbutamol?) in India. Ofcourse, please check with your doctor/specialist. You can also talk to someone who specializes in treating pregnant woman.

I don't want to scare you. Don't worry about side-effects to baby. You are already in trimester 2. Moreover, it is more important to have a constant supply of oxygen to the baby.

Do not worry. There are women with asthma so severe that they need to be hospitalized with strong medicine. But it does not affect the baby.

All the best.

thanks for your msg..

my doc feels this is some kind of allergy..maybe due to pollution/smog/dust or whatever.......

At the moment I am taking a expectorant(bronchoialdilator) & am comfortable.

Its good to know someone who has been through this!
