Waiting to try:Driving & Yoga

Hi,
I have 2 queries:
1. Is it ok for me to drive a 4-wheeler during pregnancy? Actually I am TTC. We have started from this month. Can I continue to drive my car even after I get pregnant?
2. I am doing around 30mins of Yoga to lose weight. Since I am TTC, is it ok for me to continue with my Yoga? or should I stick with going for 30mins walk instead?
Pls advice
Sunshine

I am glad you are trying to be as ' normal' as can be. I know what you are going through. You can' t think of anything except ' did I conceive this time ?' ' maybe I shouldn' t have done that' or ' eaten that' . Give yourself some time and you will learn to relax.

Regarding your questions - I am really not sure if there is any truth to all these old wives tale. I also have heard that papaya will cause an abortion. But then again you are not yet pregnant. Now I haven' t heard anythng about mango and jack fruit though. Why don' t you check with your gyno the next time you see her or call her up. I am pretty sure that these fruits are good for you if you eat them in moderation. Mix it up with other fruits like banana, guava etc.

About coffee and tea - Doctors do advise to cut down on caffiene so take it easy with the coffee. Perhaps one or two cups a day instead of 3. Also drink enough water so you flush out your system. I can' t live without coffee and I know many who have had a cup too many but never had a problem conceiving. So should be fine.

All will work out and you will have a bundle of joy soon in your arms. Let us know if things work out.
All the best.

Hi Anita,
Thanks for your useful advice. I am trying to eat a variety of fruits and veggies and avoid fried/sweets as much as possible (difficult to say No on special occassions).

I will try to cut down on the coffee. It´ s going to be very hard though! I have to start drinking more water as well.

Will keep you posted. Thanks for the best wishes :-)

Hi Sunshine
You shouldn' t be worried about driving or doing yoga while you are on ttc or even if you are pregnant. These things are not going to affect you conceiving in any way. In fact, don' t think so much about your activities - you will get consumed with getting pregnant so much that nothing will be normal anymore. The only thing to pay attention to is your diet and if you are eating healthy, everything will be fine. You will get pregnant soon. Good Luck.

Hi Anita,
Thanks again for your advice. You don´ t know how much your advice has helped me to relax. I have been so anxious for the past 2 weeks, ever since we started TTC, just don´ t want to do anything " wrong" . Will follow your advice and try to be as normal as possible.

Also, if you dont mind could you let me know whether there is any truth in the following facts:

1. Fruits like mango, jackfruit, papaya, pineapple, should be avoided.
I eat fruits twice a day. Of-late, without knowing, I have eaten mango & jackfruit. Is this ok? Should I avoid these fruits?

2. Coffee / Tea should be avoided.
I have 2 to 3 small cups of Coffee / Tea a day. Is this too much? Should I avoid it completely?

Waiting for your reply :)

Thanks again!
Sunshine
